Fields of Practice

Received his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2006. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2007. Prior to joining PJS Law, he was a Junior Associate with Villanueva Gabionza & De Santos Law Offices where his practice focused primarily on Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Commercial Law and Special Projects. He received his Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of the Philippines – Diliman in 2001.

Relevant Experiences

• Presently assisting in various matters relating to regulatory approvals pending before the Energy Regulatory Commission (“ERC”). Work includes assisting a power generation company in its applications with the ERC for the approval of its power supply agreements with various electric distribution utilities in different areas in the Philippines; assisting a power generation company in its intervention in a number of cases involving applications of the National Power Corporation and/or the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (“PSALM”) on different matters; drafting and preparation of documentations for submission with the ERC; and appearances before the ERC for hearings and conferences.

• Assisted in the due diligence audit of a power generation facility set for public bidding by the Power Sector Asset and Liabilities Management Corporation (“PSALM”). Work included perusal and review of documents pertaining to assets and real properties underlying the said power generation facility; drafting and preparation of the due diligence report, supplemental reports, legal opinions and other legal documents; and Liaison with various government agencies and offices.

• Part of the team acting as legal counsel to one of Asia Pacific's leading specialist in corporate recovery in their acquisition of contracts to sell ("CTS") receivables from a Philippine financial company. Work includes review of accounts covered by the CTS, review of sale/assignment documents and assisting client in providing an efficient structure for the acquisition of the CTS.

• Acts as a consultant to the Philippine Department of Finance-Municipal Development Fund Office regarding on-lending transactions to local government units.

• Previously assisted in the submission of proposals and bids for the construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, and financing of infrastructure and government projects covered by the Build Operate and Transfer Law (“BOT”) and/or Private-Public Partnership Joint Venture (PPP-JV) Scheme, which include the extension of a railway system, housing/residential townsite, airport facility and Toll Expressway.

• Assisted in the due diligence review and preparation of reports pertaining to the corporate structure, organization, and operation of a realty company, and assisted in assessing the associated risks and exposure in pursuing the proposed transaction.

• Acts as assisting Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for different corporations. Work includes incorporation, contract review and drafting of documents for various corporate transactions and corporate filings.
